Engineered wood flooring is available in many finishes and colours including oak, ash, maple and walnut. It is hard wearing and durable, making it the perfect floor finish for any living room, bedroom or family living space.
The surface is a hardwood layer that shows all of the natural and beautiful features of the real wood, similar to genuine wood flooring.
Engineered wood flooring top wear layer, usually 2-6mm thick of hardwood glued on top of single or multiple layers softwood or plywood. These layers are bonded together to create a stable base that makes for a highly durable floor.
This structure ensures greater dimensional stability and provides certain advantages over solid flooring.
The engineered wood floor can be used with underfloor heating systems and can be installed in basements.
This flooring type more resistant to different environments including warm, damp and humidity. The engineered floor planks doesn’t expand and contract to the same degree as solid wood floor boards.
With a little care and attention, engineered wood floors top wear layer will last decades and can be easily softly sanded and restored to like new condition.
Most wood flooring you can find on the market are lacquered or oiled, but you can buy unfinished boards for painting, varnishing or oiling yourself at home.
It's available with tongue and groove boards which need to be glued into place and with a 'click-and-lock' installation system which doesn't require any adhesive.
